"The Incorporated Trustees of The Islamic Community Fund of Hong Kong announced that Eid-ul-Fitr will be on Tuesday 29 July.
There will be two eid prayers at Masjid Ammar Wan Chai, first one at 7.30 am and the last one at 9 am. Please see this page for details. Eid Mubarak

Danny Williams
Perjalanannya menuju Islam diawali saat mendengar kumandang adzan di Turki. Sejak itu dia memilih Islam sebagai agama barunya pada 1999.
Dream - Danny Williams, merupakan petinju kelahiran 13 Juli 1973 di London, Inggris. Bersama tiga saudaranya, ia dibesarkan di Brixton oleh kedua orangtuanya yang berasal dari kepulauan Karibia di Jamaika.
Perjalanannya menuju Islam diawali saat mendengar kumandang adzan di Turki. Sejak itu dia memilih Islam sebagai agama barunya pada 1999.
Kemampuan Williams di atas ring sempat diragukan banyak pengamat saat naik ring pada 31 Juli 2004 di Freedom Hall di Louisville, Kentucky, Amerika Serikat. Kala itu, Williams menghadapi Mike Tyson si leher beton. Alih-alih tekuk di bawah tekanan Tyson, Williams berhasil memukul KO Tyson pada ronde keempat.
Setelah itu, ia naik ring lagi pada 11 Desember 2004 untuk bertarung melawan Vitali Klitschko memperebutkan gelar juara dunia. Tapi dia di-KO sang juara dunia kelas berat dalam delapan ronde.
Pada awalnya Williams tidak menikmati tinju dan hanya melakukannya karena desakan ayahnya. Namun akhirnya ia menemukan bahwa olahraga itu adalah jalan hidupnya.
Williams mulai berlatih di gym dari usia delapan tahun. Selama kariernya, dia menggunakan petinju seperti Jersey Joe Walcott, Rocky Marciano dan terutama Muhammad Ali sebagai panutan.
Setelah terjun di tinju profesional, karier Williams melesat tajam dengan gaya tinju orthodox. Namanya semakin berkibar di seluruh dunia saat meng-KO sang legenda, 'Iron' Mike Tyson.
Ketika tidak di atas ring, Williams dikenal sebagai seorang ayah yang dekat dengan keluarga, terutam dua putrinya, Nubia dan Maliha. Dalam "mendamaikan" profesinya yang keras dengan imannya yang lembut, Williams mengatakan, "Aku seorang prajurit di atas ring, tapi di luar, aku pastikan hidupku untuk kebaikan demi Allah."
Williams memutuskan pensiun setelah mengkanvaskan kompatriotnya sesama Inggris, Dominic Negus pada ronde keempat. Negus dikanvaskan dalam sebuah pertarungan tak resmi di London di tahun 2013. Ini adalah pertarungan perpisahan Williams dengan para fansnya.
Sampai saat ini Williams telah bertarung sebanyak 67 kali, menang 45 kali, menang dengan KO 34 kali, dan kalah 21 kali.

Veronique Cools, a 25-year-old Belgian convert to Islam, has helped over 1,000 people accept Islam in the past 8 years.
Cools, who accepted Islam herself at a very young age after being influenced by her Muslim friends and researching into the religion, turned her home into an Islamic center for Belgian Muslims seeking to learn more about their religion.
Saying that she herself had to overcome many prejudices when looking into Islam, Cools then successfully helped her family overcome them too. Now her close family are also Muslims.
‘Prejudices stem from not being introduced to real Islam properly,’ she said as she was preparing iftar food packets for visiting Muslims to break their Ramadan fasts. ‘As Muslims we need to explain ourselves to society a lot better.’
The center now has more than 1,000 members, most of them Belgian women, and is open for all of Belgium’s 50,000 Muslims.

RAMADAN & SHAWWAL 1435 (2014)
"O you who believe, fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those
before you, that you may (learn) self-restraint." Qur’an 2: 183
The Fiqh Council of North America recognizes astronomical calculation as an acceptable Shar’i method for determining the beginning of Lunar months including the months of Ramadan and Shawwal. FCNA uses Makkah al-Mukarrama as a conventional point and takes the position that the conjunction must take place before sunset in Makkah and moon must set after sunset in Makkah.
On the basis of this method, the dates of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr for the year 1435 AH are established as follows:
1st of Ramadan will be on Saturday, June 28, 2014
1st of Shawwal will be on Monday, July 28, 2014
Ramadan 1435 AH:
The Astronomical New Moon is on June 27, 2014 (Friday) at 8:08 a.m. Universal Time (11:08 a.m. Makkah time). Sunset at Makkah on June 27 is at 7:07 p.m., while moonset is at 7:08 p.m. Moon is born before sunset in Makkah and moonset is after sunset. Therefore first day of Ramadan is June 28, 2014 (Saturday), insha'Allah. First Tarawih prayer will be on Friday night.
Eid ul-Fitr 1435 AH:
The Astronomical New Moon is on July 26, 2014 (Saturday) at 22:41 Universal Time. (1:41 a.m. on July 27, Makkah time). On July 26, Saturday, sunset at Makkah is 7:03 p.m. and moonset is 6:33 p.m. Moon is born after sunset in Makkah and moon sets before sunset. On July 27, Sunday, sunset at Makkah is 7:02 p.m. and moonset is at 7:14 p.m. Moon is born before sunset, while moonset is after sunset. Therefore, first day of Shawwal, i.e., Eid al-Fitr is July 28, Monday, insha'Allah.

A lot of the teams will have Muslim players in this year’s World Cup 2014 which started on Thursday 12th June 2014. It should be much more in number than the Muslim footballers in the Premier League.
Updated: Thanks to all those who commented, there are now 101 muslim football players in this years world cup in Brazil.
Muslims are obviously anticipating the arrival of Ramadan more than the World Cup, with Ramadan due to start at the end of the month.
Non the less all football fans will be glued to their television sets watching their favourite team play in the World Cup 2014. Among them will be many muslim players.

I was watching world up match between France and Honduras.
I saw one bearded-player entered the field and raised his hands toward sky and making “Dua” (supplication). Few more doing the same action. I checked and found his name as Karim Mostafa Benzema, a star-player who score the first goal and responsible to give the victory to France with 3-0 goals.
Here are the details of this player who struggles to give victory to France when France passing laws against Islam and making the life of Muslims miserable;-
Karim Mostafa Benzema is a French international footballer who plays for Spanish club Real Madrid in La Liga and the French national football team. He was born in 1987 and earn 5 Million Euro.
In addition to above there are several Muslims representing various countries in world cup. Why all French National team Players are Muslim?Benzema, Sameer Nasri, Frank Ribery, Abu Diaby, Lassana Diarra, Eric Abidal, Adil Rami, Bacary sagna and Mamadou Sakho. 9 of these players who played against Belarus as starters are muslim. Zidane who is one of the greatest and greatest french player is also muslim. Its Just best to call the national team a muslim team.

The 194-cm midfielder has a history of 50 international caps, scoring 8 international goals. The Brazil 2014 World Cup kicked off earlier this week with an abundance of Muslim players appearing the football landscape. Being an integral part of football, Muslim players starring in their different teams from across the globe in the month-long tournament are expected to draw much attention of spectators with special performance.

Since his breakthrough into Basel’s first team, the left-footed midfielder has drawn widespread praise for his speed, both on and off the ball. Shaqiri won the 2012–13 UEFA Champions League title with Bayern in late May, as well as the Bundesliga and the DFB Pokal title, making him one of the Bayern Munich players to have won the treble.

In October 2009, Sissoko played his first international match between France and Faroe Islands. By 2013, the 188-cm Muslim midfielder has signed in for Newcastle.

Between 2008-2011, the Ghanaian footballer has been playing for Spain’s Elche. After moving to Villarreal’s team in 2011, the youngster played a number of La Liga games for the club’s first team. In 2013, Wakaso’s moving to the Russian club Rubin Kazan made him one of the Ghanaian squad’s key players who are listed for the World Cup 2014.

At the age of 14, the Muslim player joined Auxerre where he developed his skills as a forward. Meanwhile, he was moved to fill in at right-back, dubbed as the best right-back by his fellow players in 2006 and 2007. The French Defender has joined Arsenal in 2007, signing a £7-million contract. With 41 international caps, the 178-cm midfielder will play for the French squad in World Cup 2014.

Prior to playing for the senior team, he played on the under-19 team that won the 2005 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship. Diaby made his senior international debut in March 2007 in a UEFA Euro 2008 qualifying match against Lithuania. He has represented France at 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
