Suatu malam, Imam Ahmad pernah berkeinginan menghabiskan malamnya di sebuah masjid. Tetapi penjaga masjid melarangnya. Imam Ahmad berusaha agar diizinkan, namun tak juga membuahkan hasil. Maka imam Ahmad berkata kepadanya, “Aku akan tidur di sini.” Benar, Imam Ahmad tidur di tempatnya tersebut. Tiba-tiba penjaga masjid berdiri dan mengeluarkannya dari area masjid.
Ada seorang tukang roti melihat beliau, ia mengajaknya menginap di rumahnya. Pergilah Imam Ahmad bersama tukang roti tersebut. Ia sangat memuliakan sang imam. Setelah menjamunya, si tukang roti pergi menggarap adonan untuk dibuat roti.
Sepanjang menyelesaikan pekerjaannya, laki-laki tadi senantiasa beristighfar. Imam Ahmad dibuat takjub dengan pemandangan ini. Saat pagi tiba beliau menanyakan perihal istighfarnya semalam. Si tukang roti menjawab bahwa dirinya senantiasa membaca istighfar.
Kemudian Imam Ahmad bertanya: Apakah kamu mendapatkan buah dari istighfarmu?
Dia menjawab: Ya, demi Allah, tidaklah aku berdoa (meminta) sesuatu kecuali pasti dikabulkan, kecuali satu doa!
Imam Ahmad bertanya: doa apa itu?
Dia menjawab: melihat Al-Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal.
Imam Ahmad berkata: Saya adalah Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal, Demi Allah, sungguh aku benar-benar telah diseret kepadamu.
Subhanallah, ini adalah bukti nyata keajaiban istighfar. Ia menjadi sebab dikabulkannya doa dan permintaan kepada Allah. Istighfar juga menjadi sebab dihindarkannya bala’, dilapangkan dada, diluaskan rizki, dan dihindarkan dari berbagai bencana.
Istighfar menghapuskan dosa-dosa, menghapuskan kesalahan-kesalahan, dan meninggikan derajat. sungguh besar pahala dan keutamaan yang akan diperoleh orang yang melazimi istghfar.

CUIABA – Three Muslim players from Bosnia-Herzegovina World Cup team have paid a visit to the local mosque in Cuiaba, performing Friday prayer at the mosque and mingling with the local community.
The visit, reported by Goal.com website, comes ahead of their awaited Group G match against Nigeria on Saturday, June 21, in the Mato Grosso capital.
The three players included star striker Vedad Ibisevic, Muhamed Besic and Edin Visca.

The Friday prayer was also attended by former national team midfielder Elvir Rahimic who is with the squad in Brazil.
Performing the prayer, the three players happily posed for pictures and signed autographs as locals converged on the mosque bearing Bosnian flags and demonstrating their support for the team.
The visit followed a Thursday’s invitation by the mosque imam Omar Omama who visited the team's hotel upon their arrival and invited the squad and technical delegation to the mosque for prayer.
Bosnia has lost its hard-fought match against Argentina by 2-1. Nigeria, on the other hand, finished its match against Iran by draw 0-0.
The capital of Mato Gtosso state, Cuiaba is located exactly in the geographical center of South America.
The city, in a prime location for tourists, has a small Muslim community of about 400 that’s mainly formed of Lebanese, Palestinians, Syrians, Egyptians as well as local Brazilians.

CAIRO – Arsenal Muslim player Mesut Ozil has sent a warm message to world Muslims in Arabic, English and German congratulating them on Prophet Muhammad’s birthday.
“I wish the Islamic world a blessed and happy celebration,” he wrote on his Facebook page.
A similar message was written in Arabic and German as well.

Earlier this month, the Berlin branch of Madame Tussaud's museum has unveiled a waxwork version of Özil.
At the age of 24, Özil becomes the youngest sportsman to figure in the Berlin museum.

CAIRO – Switzerland’s Muslim Xherdan Shaqiri scored three times on Wednesday, June 25, against Honduras, securing the Swiss a place in the second round of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
“We knew that we were going to show great football today,” Shaqiri, a Bayern Munich winger, was quoted by the Daily Breeze after the match.
“For us, this has been really a dream to be in the World Cup, small Switzerland in the World Cup.”

The Swiss finished with six points from three matches, one behind group winner France, which drew 0-0 with Ecuador.
Switzerland and Honduras played each other at the World Cup in South Africa exactly four years ago, on June 25, 2010, but that match ended in a 0-0 draw and both teams were eliminated.
The Bayern Munich star hat-trick helped his nation book a last-16 tie with Lionel Messi's Argentina at the World Cup.
“We are really anxious for that. We also know that we are not the favorites for the match, but we are going to try for victory,” Shaqiri said.

The 22-year-old Shaqiri was born in Yugoslavia from Albanian origin. The Muslim footballer plays as a midfielder for Bayern Munich in the German Bundesliga.
Since his breakthrough into Basel’s first team, the left-footed midfielder has drawn widespread praise for his speed, both on and off the ball.
Shaqiri won the 2012–13 UEFA Champions League title with Bayern in late May, as well as the Bundesliga and the DFB Pokal title, making him one of the Bayern Munich players to have won the treble.

As Brazil prepares to host FIFA World Cup football tournament that would run from June 12 to July 13, 2014, dozens of Muslim players have been listed to take part in this summer's international games.
Here are some of the names of Muslim stars participating in the international tournament.
Edin Džeko
Born in March 1986 in Bosnia's Sarajevo, the Manchester City striker has began his career as a midfielder in the youth team of Željezničar where he was recognized as one of the most talented boys in the blue team.
In November 2009, Džeko became Bosnia’s first UNICEF ambassador.
The Bosnian footballer was named top scorer of Group G in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers as his 10 goals granted his country Bosnia qualification for the first time in history to the FIFA World Cup (Brazil 2014).
Dzeko will play for Bosnia in the World Cup 2014.
Mesut Özil
Mesut Özil is a German footballer who plays for Premier League club Arsenal and the German national team. Özil has been a youth national team member since 2006, and a member of the German national team since 2009.
The 25-year-old talented player gained international attention during the 2010 FIFA World Cup and was nominated for the Golden Ball Award, which is awarded to the tournament's best player.
At the age of 24, Özil became the youngest sportsman to figure in the Berlin museum.
Sami Khedira
The Real Madrid midfielder, Sami Khedira, was named by Germany to play in World Cup 2014.

In 2010, the Muslim player moved from VFB Stuttgart to Real Madrid, signing a contract until 2015 with an undisclosed fee.
Karim Benzema
Playing for the Spanish Real Madrid and the French national football team, Karim Benzema, 26, was named as a forward player in the French squad travelling to Brazil 2014.
At the age of 19, the Muslim striker was ranked as top goal-scorer in all European leagues in 2007 with 11 goals so far.
He stole the limelight in 2005, when he made his first debut with the Lyonnais and scored a spectacular goal that gave him a foothold in the French national team at the age of 17.
Hailing from Algerian family, Benzema helped the Lyonnais maintain Ligue 1 title for 2005, 2006 and 2007.
His impressive performance at the UEFA Cup 2007 drew interests from European heavyweights Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC and Inter Milan.
Mamadou Sakho
Hailing form a Senegalese family, the 24-year-old Muslim defender will play for the French world Cup squad.
The French footballer plays as a central defender for Premier League club Liverpool and the French national team.
In 2003, Sakho started his professional career after joining club Paris Saint-Germain, at the age of 12.
By 2007, the French defender signed his first professional three-year contract. In the same year he made his first league debut against Valeciennes in a 0–0 draw, becoming the youngest player ever to captain a Ligue 1 club.

With drumbeats getting louder for Brazil World Cup, international teams are putting their final touches on their squads to compete for the most coveted tournament in the world. Shining in their teams, dozens of Muslim players have been listed to take part in this summer's international games.
Here are some of the names of Muslim stars participating in the international tournament. This is the second episode.
Yaya Toure
The Manchester City midfielder, Yaya Toure, 31, will play for Côte d'Ivoire team in Brazil 2014, making his third appearance in FIFA World Cup tournaments.
Playing his first international match in 2004, the 189-cm player has gained several medals over years, including two Spanish La Liga titles, two English Premier League titles, the Greek Super League title, a UEFA Champions League winner’s medal, and victories in a host of domestic cup competitions.
Named as the best player in a game, Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure politely refused a Champagne bottle award saying he does not drink because he is a Muslim.
Kolo Toure
Dubbed as one of the most experienced players in Africa, the Liverpool FC (ENG) defender, Kolo Toure, was picked among Côte d'Ivoire squad playing in Brazil 2014.
Born in March 1981, the Muslim Ivory coast player has a history of more than 100 international games for his country. His first international match was between Niger - Côte d'Ivoire in July 2000.
The brother of Yaya Toure has previously played for his country in two FIFA World Cup finals.
The veteran footballer, 183 cm, has participated in 107 international games for his country, recording 6 international goals.
Sulley Muntari
The Ghanaian Muslim footballer, who was born in August 1984, is a central midfielder for the Italian AC Milan (ITA).
With 81 international games, the 179-cm player has competed at the highest levels of club football, scoring 21 international goals.
The elder brother of CFR Cluj player Sulley Muniru has played for the Portsmouth team that won the FA Cup (English Football Association Challenge Cup) in 2007–08.
Lining up for the Black Stars at the last two FIFA World Cups, Muntari had scored against the Czech Republic in 2006 in what was Ghana’s first-ever World Cup victory.
Four years later, the Muslim midfielder has made victory in the dramatic quarter-final against Uruguay in Johannesburg.
Ahmed Musa
Born in Nigeria in October 1992, the Muslim player was listed among the key players who will play for Nigeria in the World Cup 2014.
The forward player is playing for the Russian club CSKA Moscow and the Nigeria national team.
Musa started his professional career after being loaned to Nigerian JUTH F.C. in 2008, where he played 18 games.
The massively talented Nigerian youngster has played his first international match in Nigeria's Madagascar in September 2010.

Franck Ribery: 31 years old Ribery plays as striker for France and Bayern Munich club. Ribery is a Muslim covert who loves to follow Islam in his life.

BERLIN, Germany, November 9, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Germany’s downward spiral in population is no longer reversible, the country’s federal statistics office said Tuesday. The birthrate has dropped so low that immigration numbers cannot compensate.
“The fall in the population can no longer be stopped,” vice-president Walter Rademacher with the Federal Statistics Office said, reported Agence France-Presse.
Germany has the lowest birthrate in Europe, with an average of 1.36 children per woman. Despite government incentives to encourage larger families, the population is dropping rapidly and that trend will continue, with an expected loss of as much as 12 million by 2050. That would mean about a 15 percent drop from the country’s current population of 82.4 million, the German news source Deutsche Welle reported today.
The low birthrate will cause the German population to age dramatically over the next 40 years--last year there were 144,000 more deaths than births, and that number could increase to 600,000 by 2050, the FSO forecast stated.
With a 22 percent reduction in the workforce and increasing costs for senior assistance and medical care, the drop in population is expected to have a radical impact on the nation’s economy, along with the welfare budget....
Germany has one of the largest populations of Muslim immigrants in Western Europe, with a Muslim community of over 3 million. That trend is expected to continue, leading some demographic trend-watchers to warn that the country is well on the way to becoming a Muslim state by 2050, Deutsche Welle reported.
The Brussels Journal reported last month that one third of all European children will be born to Muslim families by 2025. There are an estimated 50 million Muslims living in Europe today--that number is expected to double over the next twenty years.
